Dean’s List: How to Prepare Your Student to be a Winner

This session will go over all portions of the Deans List process from how to select a well rounded candidate, tips on answering the essay questions, how to prepare your student for the interview, and what sets a Dean’s List candidate apart. You will also get a peak into the Judges mind, and what truly motivates a Dean’s List Winner. If you are thinking of submitting a Dean’s List finalist to your next event and have any questions on how to make a stronger case for your student, this is the session for you!

About Callie

Callie Carbajal is a FIRST alumni, Dean’s List Winner, Dean’s List Finalist Award Judge, FRC Referee, and FRC Head Referee who has been involved with FIRST for over 13 years. She also is a former Program Development Partner for FIRST LEGO League Challenge and still volunteers as the Regional Judge Advisor for Central California FIRST LEGO League Challenge. At her day job Callie works as a Project Manager / Designer for InnovAlda, and has a degree in Materials Engineering from UC Davis.
